![]() ![]() Main reasons for a political violence such as terrorism involve inequality, energy, globalization, political interests or religion. Even tough states fight against terrorism, the aim of terrorist groups is rarely states when it comes to killing. The most upsetting part is that terrorism targets civilians and this is not about winning/losing side. The term that people are scared to hear anymore. Yet, there are also some conflicts involving bombardment and assault and not named “war”. ![]() In any case, there is a phrase that “There is not a winning/losing side in a war. In general, some states know that they can get more by making a war instead of working on peace agreement while others are just pressured by nationalism to go into war. Such as invasion of Crimea – geostrategic area - in 2014 enhanced control of Black Sea for the Russia. And the point is not always the size of the area but the geographic importance. ![]() As stated previously, territorial gain and dominance over an area always impacts political and economic relations between states because of the leverage that one side possess. That, eventually, increased tension between European countries which ended up with one of the most inhumane wars that history saw. One of the major causes of World War One was the colonization of British and French Empires over the globe. Those confrontations mostly emerge from the domination of a or a few countries over the region for a long time which at the end leads to desire to gain even more power and eventually bloodshed. And the fuel is prolonged confrontations going back years that are accumulated and waited for someone to ignite such as the example of assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand in 1914 which is supposedly started World War One. Some descriptivist historians may come up with the idea that a specific event might be the cause of massacres while with the deep insight it can be understood that those events are just a spark enough to burn the whole region. In my opinion, most widespread causes for an armed conflict to start are the terrorism and economic gain through occupation of territories. Reason for wars may vary from economic, territorial gain, religion to revolution, nationalism, civil war and so on. ![]()
